Cycling from Celje to Žalec and beyond
The Savinja Region is the perfect destination for cycling adventures.
7 municipalities, 7 different cycling experiences – all connected by cycling trails and tourist attractions.
The G13 cycling trail is 12 kilometers long and takes you from Celje to Žalec, Slovenia’s green capital of hop-growing and brewing, in about an hour.
The route runs along the Savinja River, is easy and mostly flat.
Žalec is a great starting point for exploring the unique Green Gold Beer Fountain, the Slovenian Ecomuseum of Hop-Growing and Brewing, the Pekel Cave, Vrbje Pond, and other tourist attractions.
