Homemade cheeses, cottage cheese, yogurts, and other delicacies from the Podpečan Farm are renowned far and wide.
Podpečan Farm
The house on the Podpečan Farm is approximately 120 years old, and the Podpečan surname first appeared in this region in 1831. Today, three generations live and work on the farm, cultivating 33 hectares of land. In the barn, they keep 85 head of cattle, including 45 dairy cows—mostly of the Brown breed, known for its excellent milk quality, especially its high protein content.
To give your taste buds a true delight, we serve freshly baked homemade bread—baked every Saturday—and a glass of white or red wine. For children or adults who are driving, we also offer excellent homemade juices.
In the farm shop at Podpečan Farm, alongside our homemade cheeses, cottage cheese, yogurts, spreads, cheese platters, and grill cheese, you can also purchase other farm products such as homemade apple juice, local wine, handmade crafts, vegetables, fruits, honey, and more.
At Podpečan Farm, we are happy to welcome tourists or bus groups who wish to tour the farm, see how the cheese is made, and most importantly—enjoy a cheese tasting. Our tasting room, which offers a view into the cheese production area, can accommodate up to 60 guests.
